The Diablo 3 Beta is finally coming to an end on Tuesday May 1, 2012. Congratulations to everyone who got into the Beta and I am sorry for everyone who did not get Beta access. I never received a Beta key either, but there is still a ton of great news to be shared.
As of April 14, 2012 the number of pre-orders for Diablo 3 has grown to over 600,000 total copies. Just within the last week the number of D3 pre-orders grew by 50,000. Some analysts have even predicted Diablo 3 to sell 5 Million copies within its first year of release. Though this may be a high estimate, I can definitely see Diablo 3 selling at least 3 Million copies within the first year.
You didn't get into the Beta? So what. Beta testers may have some more experience with Diablo 3's gameplay in Normal Difficulty, but in reality on May 15th everyone starts fresh. On May 1st, all beta accounts will be reset and no one will be allowed access to Diablo 3 until the release date.
Although the game will release on a Tuesday not everyone will be able to play immediately, but after Work, School, etc. the world of Diablo 3 will be a level playing field. I can't contain my excitement for Diablo 3 and even though it is only a few weeks away it still feels like months away. In my opinion, the best way to trick yourself into making Diablo 3 release sooner, is simply not to think about it. Keep your mind on something else and Diablo 3 will be here before you know it!. Trust me it works.
***Warning You May Not Like The Following Suggestions.*** You should completely focus on your schoolwork for the next four weeks. Complete all long-term projects and study as much as you can in this four week span. The goal here is freeing as much time as you can for when Diablo 3 is released. Not only that, but Summer is not too far away either!
Do You Have A Job?
Be proactive and finish projects ahead of schedule if you can. Try to avoid taking days off and save those vacation days for the week of May 15th! Also make sure to start installing Diablo 3 on Tuesday before you leave for work. You can do this if you purchased the digital copy from Blizzard.
Are You Just Lazy?
If you have nothing to do, you can spend some time looking for a job, playing other games, learn how to cook etc. There are actually endless possibilities for someone that has a lot of time on their hands. Do something productive/constructive and you fell much better about playing Diablo 3 once it is released.
